Good morning dear readers!
I have a few more stripey manicures to show you which I am very excited about but I'm going to give you a break from my new love and share with you a recent nail fail using the three colours shown below:
I have a few more stripey manicures to show you which I am very excited about but I'm going to give you a break from my new love and share with you a recent nail fail using the three colours shown below:
Yes Love, Nails Inc Spitalfields and Barry M Pure Turquoise.
I saw a beautiful block manicure in this style on a blog recently and decided to try and recreate it, using different colours.
This was my first attempt at colour blocking and my first attempt at a tape manicure. I think you can see from the pictures that it was a disaster. It was all very "lumpy" as I ended up making the yellow strips too narrow so had to widen them without tape when the polish had already started to dry and then I did the blue strips without tape too. Perhaps I shouldn't even call it a tape manicure since the majority of this ended up being free-handed.
Are you fans of tape manicures and the colour blocking trend?
Bye for now,
Laura

Tape manicures and I do not mix! I like the colors you chose!
ReplyDeleteLol, thanks. I thought it was going to be easy!
DeleteI like your color choices. They look well together. I don't think this is a fail. This is pretty good for your first time. I probably wouldn't be able to do this!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Don't know if I will dare try again though
DeleteI'm not even sure what colour blocking is yet :) And I haven't tried tape manis either. I need to try soon though.
ReplyDeleteHeehee, me neither, so I hope my manicure meets the definition of colour blocking ;-)
Deleteyou did a good job, tape mani's are hard!! I get impatient :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I wasn't sure if I should take the tape off immediately after applying the polish or wait until the strips had dried a bit. So the results show a bit of both lol
DeleteI have a love and hate relationship with tape manis, when it works, its great but sometimes, when I peel off the tape, it rips midway and disaster!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure at what point of the drying stage I should peel the tape off. Maybe I'll watch a tutorial for my next attempt.
DeleteI've made a tape mani only once :). Your mani looks fun! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks :-)
Deleteyes I'm a fan of both and I really don't understand you! why is this a fail ?? it looks pretty good to me! it only looks like there are a lot of layers! :P other than that it's gorgeous ;)
ReplyDeleteHehe, you don't understand me! It's just so lumpy! I wanted to be smooooooth. But thank you for the encouragement :-)
DeleteLooks great! I'm a fan, but I love stamping over this sort of thing too xD
ReplyDeleteThanks! Stamping would have been awesome! Next time :-)
Deletei love the color blocking trend! and i'd love to try this! :)
