The Questions:

1.) How many polishes do you have?
About 150 I would say.

2.) What is your favorite brand of nail polish?
Essence! I discovered this brand on holiday and think it's such a shame it's not sold in Britain. The range, quality and price are fabulous.

3.) Do you like crackle polish, or do you hate it?
I like crackle polish.  I only have two but they're great for rescuing a ruined manicure.

4.) What was your first nail polish brand? 

Probably Boots 17, unless I had a Tinkerbell nail polish when I was a child.

5.) If you're gonna create a nail polish line, what are you gonna name it? 
I would love to create my own nail polish line but thinking of a good name is difficult.  Laura Loves could be a possibility, or Butterfly Dreams maybe.
6.) What nail polish color does not compliment you? 
Yellow, orange and white don't compliment me.  I don't think very pale colours suit me either but I still wear them ;-)
7.) And what color does compliment you? 
I'd like to think red, pink, purple and blue compliment me as I wear those colours a lot but honestly I don't know.  As long as I think my nails look good, I'm happy.
8.) Name 2 of your best Nail Art Friends!
I haven't met anyone from the blogosphere in real life (although if anyone in the Manchester area is interested, let me know!) but I am happy I've been given the chance to make friends through this blog and through following other girls' blogs.
9.) What was the best nail polish gift you have ever received? 
Any nail polish gift is a gift to be treasured!  But I think the best nail polish gift was from my boyfriend, who gave me a Dior and a Yves Saint Laurent polish one Christmas, because he chose them himself even though he's not interested in nails and thinks I have too many polishes.  Plus they were, and still are, my first designer polishes.

I'd have to say ice cream because I don't think I've tried frozen yoghurt. I'd like to though!

Well, I like both but I'll go for clothes (on the condition that the term "make-up" excludes nail varnish ;-) )

Hair spray

TV or book?
Book, definitely. I love getting lost in a good book. Anyway, there's not a lot on tv these days that I consider worth watching.

Pool or beach?
Hmm...beach, although walking on hot sand is so painful

Water, it's pretty much all I drink

Sandals

Purse or backpack?
Purse

Tough one. Probably Team Edward.

Good evening girls!

Sorry I haven't blogged this past week. To get me back in to the swing of things I've decided to answer the questions posed to me by the wonderful bloggers at Sekhmet's Purple Castle, Nail Addict, Sara Loves Pretty Little Things, Red Hair and Black Nail Polish and Paint That Nail. Thank you all for tagging me for 11 Questions :-)

The first thing I'm supposed to do is share 11 facts about myself with you so here we go:
My favourite lunch is currently mackerel, apple and beetroot
I'm going to Amsterdam for the first time this summer
Today I bought my first Max Factor polish (can you guess what it is??)
I love animal prints
I like scented candles and wax melts
I love writing and receiving letters
I have thousands of photos I'd like to develop and put in albums
I'm going to my first rugby match soon
The last film I saw at the cinema was The Descendants, which I didn't at all enjoy
I have a folder of manicures I've seen on blogs that I love but I never try to recreate any of them
Tonight I'm going to watch American Beauty

What is your favourite nail polish colour?
Purple

What was the last thing you watched on tv?

Do you prefer brights or nudes or vampy for nails?
Brights

What nail polish trend do you love/hate?
I hate newspaper nails and I love almost all other trends!

Do you prefer long or short nails?
Definitely long but not ridiculously long

What do you do for a living?
I'm a trainee Chartered Accountant

Do you remember your dreams?
Occasionally but I'm not a big dreamer, most of my dreams relate to work or any repetitive activity I've been doing during the day eg Sudoku!

What is your favourite book?
Digging to America by Anne Tyler and The Distance Between Us by Maggie O'Farrell

Where would you like to live?
America, Canada, China, France, Japan, Scotland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain...I like to travel and experience different places and cultures

Hmm, tough one but let's say Julia by Essence, Pink Spice by Accessorize, Digital by Milani and Hi-Res by Milani

Essence

Nubar, Wet and Wild, Catrice etc

Stamping or freehand nail art, which is your favourite?
Stamping, because I find it much easier. I envy those bloggers who are so talented at freehand!

Thursday's Tag

Hi girls,

I hope you are all well and enjoying the week.

Today I'm doing a Cosmetics Storage tag from Theodora at Red Hair and Black Nail Polish where I show you how I store my cosmetics. Thanks for tagging me :-)

I store all my cosmetics except my nail polish in the bathroom. Along the side of the bath I have these:

(face wash, cleanser, toner, make-up remover, moisturiser, bubble bath)

On the floor I have a container for my ELF eyeshadow palette, hairspray, mousse, Bio-Oil etc and two cases containg:

Items of make-up often worn during the week

And items of make-up worn for special occasions/at the weekend

I store the items of make-up I use everyday in the bathroom cabinet
(GOSH Primer, 17 Even Tone stick, Rimmel foundation, Rimmel concealer)

My nail polish collection, stamping kit and nail art tools are stored in my study

The Versatile Blogger

Hello folks :-)

Leanne, over at Do Not Refreeze tagged all of her readers for The Versatile Blogger award so here I am, doing the same.

The rules: tell us 7 things about yourself then tag 6 other bloggers for this award.

1. One of my favourite books is Digging to America by Anne Tyler. I've just finished reading it for probably the tenth time. It's about two families in America, one American and one Iranian, who both adopt baby girls from Korea. The story is not particularly dramatic or fast-paced but that's why I love it; it's about the day to day lives of these two families, observations about culture and behaviour, and what it is to be an outsider.

2. I want to start taking Spanish classes next year.

3. I haven't had a proper, genuine, carefree conversation with another girl for about 10 weeks, since I moved here. I don't have any female friends here and I'm beginning to miss girlie chats.

4. I'm a Scot living in England and not a day goes by without someone reminding me of this.

5. When I was younger I wanted to be a stock broker when I grew up.

6. My favourite singer is Josh Groban. Although there are a few of his songs which I dislike, I absolutely love Oceano, All'improvviso Amore, In Her Eyes and Awake. His new album comes out on 15th Nov and I just can't wait to hear it (I've been waiting for a new album for three years) despite being slightly apprehensive as apparently this album shows Josh taking his music in a new direction.

7. I've been with my boyfriend for a year and seven months. He makes me happy :-)

This tag has been doing the rounds recently so I thought I'd join in and post my answers.


1. Do you have any pets?

No. I don't like animals.


2. Name three things that are physically close to you

Box of nail polish, nail cream and an amethyst gem tree.


3. What's the weather like right now?

Wet but I don't really mind as I'm in for the rest of the day.


4. Do you drive? If so, have you crashed?

I do drive and fortunately haven't crashed.


5. What time did you wake up this morning?

7am


6. When was the last time you showered?

Yesterday.


7. What was the last movie you saw?

The last movie I saw at the cinema was Eclipse, which I was disappointed by.


8. What does your last text message say?

It's a message from my boyfriend telling me he's on a break at work and his job is boring.


9. What's your ringtone?

"DewsSwing"


10. Have you ever been to a different country?

Yes, I'm lucky enough to have been to many different countries: Scotland, England, Ireland, France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Slovenia and Slovakia.


11. Do you like sushi?

I've only tried sushi a few times but I've liked what I've tried.


12. Where do you buy your groceries?

If it was up to me, I'd mainly shop in Asda and have regular trips to Lidl but due to where I live, Tesco is now my main supermarket.


13. Have you ever taken medication to help you fall asleep faster?

Nope.


14. How many siblings do you have?

One younger brother.


15. Do you have a desktop computer or a laptop?

A laptop.


16. How old will you be turning on your next birthday?

I'll be 25 next May.


17. Do you wear contacts or glasses?

Both.


18. Do you colour your hair?

No.


19. Tell me something you are planning to do today.

Bake an apple and chocolate crumble.


20. When was the last time you cried?

Very recently.


21. What is your perfect pizza topping?

Ooh, chicken and sweetcorn or chicken and roasted vegetables or chicken and bacon with a carbonara sauce... I love chicken on pizza.


22. Which do you prefer- hamburgers or cheeseburgers?

I love cheeseburgers. I don't eat them often but when I do, I like to get them from Burger King.


23. Have you ever had an all-nighter?

Many and they've always been great fun as they've involved getting to know people or becoming closer to friends. I've never pulled an all-nighter due to an exam or coursework though.


24. What is your eye colour?

Brown.


25. Can you taste the difference between Pepsi and Coke?

Yep. I much prefer Pepsi but because Coke is more widely available, I tend to drink that even though neither are particularly nice.

5 Product Face

Good evening girls,

The lovely Carrie recently tagged me for the "5 Product Face" challenge, where you're supposed to do your make-up using only five products. It may surprise you to know that for someone who has the word cosmetics in her blog title, I don't actually use or have that much make-up therefore this tag was really easy for me and I thought I'd just show you the products I used today:

1) Superdrug Vitamin moisture lotion
2) L'Oreal Matte Morphose foundation
3) A very old Collection 2000 shimmering glow powder
4) Editt Cosmetics 3D superblack mascara
5) Collection 2000 Brilliant Shimmer lip gloss (I don't usually wear lip gloss or lipstick but I won this one last month and kind of thought why not give it a try)
