Hi girls,
Are you all having a good weekend?
My nails have been without polish for about three weeks now. At first they looked all right but now the white tips have begun to turn transparent and peel etc so they just look awful. Plus I always think bare nails are more prone to breakages and damage than painted nails. Anyway, I was going out last night and didn't want plain nails yet didn't want to redo my nails today so I settled for a bright but work appropriate colour, Pink Grapefruit by Boots 17.
Today I had more time on my hands than I had anticipated so I thought it was time to get my stamping kit out after ignoring it for so long.
Of course I struggled picking a design to stamp and a colour to stamp it with but in the end I settled for a swirly image from MASH plate m63 and Raspberry by Natural Collection.

It looks quite nice in person but unfortunately it was difficult to pick up the pattern on camera.
I then topped it off with a coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dry top coat, my replacement for Seche Vite. I really hate Seche Vite now. I think it is one of the worst polishes for your health, it smells horrendous and it does not keep well. I haven't had mine for long but it's turned really stringy and is just impossible to use. I'm much more impressed with this fast drying top coat from Sally Hansen despite usually disliking Sally Hansen products. This is the first time I've tried the top coat so I don't know what its long-term use is like but so far, so good.
They look lovely! If you take the photo from slightly further away then the flash doesn't show up as much :) but I suppose that doesn't really help when you have designs on since it wouldn't show up the design as well either haha x
ReplyDeleteIt looks really good! :) I don´t know what you can do to photograph shiny nails, but your doing a good job so far ;) I always photograph my manicures before adding TC :) And I have the same problem as you...I didn´t paint my nails for a long time, and now I have no idea what to do with them :P I think I just start to paint some nail wheels, that helps me every time :)
ReplyDeleteThis looks so nice. :)
ReplyDeleteThe only way to get the passion back is to pick colors that call to you. Also, even if you don't feel like it, polish them! Seeing pretty nails always inspires me with more ideas!
ReplyDelete@Shanice, thank you! It's so tricky getting good close ups of detailed. Maybe I need to stick to bold patterns lol.
ReplyDelete@Theodora, thanks :-) Glad I'm not the only one who has problems, or a momentary lack of enthusiasm! I might get my nail wheels out too :-)
@Sandra, thank you! Glad you like it!
@Fingers, thanks for your tips :-) It seems I need to reconnect with my polish collection and find my favourite polishes again!
Lovely design!
ReplyDelete@imfeelingnail-venturous, thanks! But next time I will use colours that contrast more to highlight the design
ReplyDeleteI love both colors and the way you paired them together.
ReplyDeleteI love the colour, but do you find boots 17 chips SUPER easily? I lost patience with mine and relegated them all to the cupboard! Going to follow you, I'm looking out for UK bloggers :)
ReplyDeleteLooks awesome! the color work great together!
ReplyDelete@The Girlie Blog, thanks!
ReplyDelete@Allie, thanks for following :-) As for Boots 17, I always use a top coat over it. With Sally Hansen Insta-Dry it chipped within 24hrs so I wasn't happy!
@Shadow, thank you :-)
What a gorgeous bright colour to brighten up the day! Love them :)

ReplyDeleteHey Laura, you blog is really great. I'm not into nails at all, but I can surely appreciate a beautiful nail art when I see one. How the heck did you get that marble effect? That's freakin cool!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog..I will be following you.
@fashionismyh2o, thanks!
ReplyDelete@Nail Nerd, subtle stamp jobs are great for getting away with at work ;-)
@Everyday Makeup Blog, thanks! The stamp did all the marble effect for me :-) My blog isn't just about nails so be sure to check back regularly for posts you may find more interesting lol
