Monday's Manicure (Nail Fail)

Currently listening to: Moves Like Jagger by Maroon 5

Hello dear readers,

Yesterday I showed you a swatch of Kiko 338 and today I'd like to show you the nail art I subsequently added to that base:

As you can probably see, it didn't quite work out the way I had envisaged.

My first step was to stamp using Konad Special White and my new Born Pretty Store image plate m65.

[My favourite nail]

The diagonal lines didn't stamp too well so I decided to try and cover up my mistakes by stamping a floral image from the same plate using Konad Special Pink. I always use floral images to save a manicure but unfortunately my stamping polish smudged a lot and I made it even worse by applying my topcoat too soon.

I had no time to redo this manicure before going out for the day and I hate having bare nails so I was forced to wear this for a day before I was finally able to remove it. Although this effort was a nail fail, I'm looking forward to re-doing it properly soon as I liked the overall effect.

Do you ever stick with a nail fail and hope that you like it more as the day goes on or do you remove bad manicures as soon as possible?

Bye for now,
Laura

  1. it would figure you'd be stuck wearing a fail. it always seems to happen that way for me too, although your "fail" isnt quite so!

  2. I usually wear fail manis for at least a day, but I make sure that there's time to remove it the following evening, so I don't have to hate my nails for two days in a row. :D

  3. I do the same... I start out with a good idea, then realize it's not working so I add to it, and add to it, and add to it, til what I have is just kinda sad. The manicure I'm wearing right now was like that. Total fail, but at least it's sparkly.

And honestly? Even though your nails may not be what you intended, but I think they're kinda fun. That's not a total fail!

    1. Ha, I know exactly what you mean! I think I ended up with about 8 coats of polish on my nails at some point that last week since every idea kept going wrong lol. Glitter or crackle polish is usually the last resort.

  4. They are not a complete fail!!! I generally try to take off my fails if time permits, otherwise I am stuck :( And I love that song, now it is playing in my head!!!

  5. Well I don't think it was a fail - it looks nice! :)
I usually wear my "fail"-manis for twenty minutes or so and then take it off. :D

    1. Thanks! 20 minutes for a nail fail sounds familiar :-)

  6. The cool thing about nail fails is that unless you're a nail professional, most people will never have a clue you consider it a fail! I've learned over the weeks to stop pointing out why I don't like what's on my nails when my co-workers ask to see them. They never notice if I don't tell them!

    1. That's a good point! I always point out the flaws or mistakes in my manicures even though I'm probably the only one who notices them
