L'Occitane en Provence and Lancome

Currently listening to: War at Home by Josh Groban

Hello dear readers,

Hope you're all enjoying the first weekend after the first week back :-)

Today I'd like to show you a couple of gifts my boyfriend's family gave me for Christmas, which came as a total surprise considering I have only met his family once, a year ago, and didn't see them at Christmas. It was very nice of them to think of me though and I do love the gifts :-)

Firstly, I was given this gift set of body creams from L'Occitane en Provence:

I love the packaging and the scents of all the creams so I'm looking forward to using them. To me, this is a luxury brand and one which I haven't tried before. Have you tried any products from L'Occitane en Provence?

Secondly, I was given Lancome Hypnose Senses perfume. It's funny, this Christmas I was given two perfumes, this one and Lush solid Tuca Tuca perfume, neither of which I had tried before so I think they were slightly risky purchases but I actually love them both so the gamble paid off :-)

And now I get to have fun using my beautiful butterfly stationery to write thank you cards to my boyfriend's family

So ladies, how was your first week back at work/uni and what are your plans for the weekend?

Bye for now,
Laura

  1. Noce!I've tried their shea butter shower/bath cream and hand cream before. Quite a grown up brand I think but something about them makes me want to try more products. I bought cherry blossom items and hand cream for my mum in the past and I think she liked them.
Thanks for pasting comment to me. Maybe I should have checked before I commented. I promise I didn't see it last time I checked. >.< Does the primer make foundations last longer? In recent weeks I've had quite big pores showing up around my nose. It does sound v handy to not get those dry patches. I've just been using rich moiturisers in hope to avoid them. Oh yes I get white faced too. I tried getting a shade darker the last time I bought a foundation but then looked a bit orange (since I've gone pale from lack of sun exposure). Need to learn how to use bronzer.

  2. Yeh I think "grown up brand" is exactly right.
Ha, I didn't mind pasting the comment :-) I will try to pay more attention to what benefits the primer has although I suppose I'll have to try a day without primer so I can do a comparison. Tomorrow shall be that day!
Yep, I too tried a darker shade of foundation but felt orange. The problem with bronzers is that they all seem to be shimmery and I'm not sure I want the whole of my face to shimmer...

  4. Yeah well I bought a cheapy ELF one a while back but it's too shimmery to use as contour and on edges of my forehead. I ordered the Studio bronzer and blusher duo that people seem to rave about so hope that'll work. I've gotten a lot of spots around my mouth recently and so I've started using foundation for work when I wake up early on the odd days. Our lighting is quite bright from flourescent tubes so that's why I've never chosen to wear any at work before. Oh yeah hwo are you getting on with Revlon photoready? I have to watch not to put on too much or I'm very white and one dimensional

  5. @Mimi, lucky you having such a long holiday :-)

@Wing, I haven't been using Revlon photoready recently. In the morning when I need to be quick I just automatically go for my Rimmel foundation as I know what to expect from it and I'm not as white using that as I am with photoready. I'll be interested to see how you get on with the Studio bronzer and blusher.

    @Leslie, thank you!

@The Girlie Blog, I'm going to try these creams out tonight. Excited!
