Good morning lovely ladies!

Today I'd like to step away from nail art and show you a bag I recently purchased which has possibly become my new favourite bag:

I bought this from Primark last week for £9.  I wasn't actually looking for a bag but it caught my eye and I just felt like it would be silly to walk away from it.

 

It's in the style of a satchel with two ornamental buckles, a lock, a handle and a shoulder strap.  Inside, in addition to the large compartment, there is a zipped pocket and two small pockets, all decorated in the pretty floral lining shown below.  I don't think I looked inside when I bought it so when I opened it to have a proper look at home I was really rather pleasantly surprised by this lining.  For a Primark bag, I think it's beautifully finished.

This week I've been at college and I've been able to use this bag to cart my books and lunch around in.  I always have difficulty finding bags which are big enough for my college materials but this one is ideal; it's so spacious.  Plus it's ideal for spring as it captures two spring trends: pastel colours and floral cut outs.  As you may have gathered by now that I'm completely enamored with this bag!

The Weekend's Haul

Hello girls!

Have you all had a good weekend? I had the day off from work on Monday so my mum came down to Manchester for a visit. We walked around Manchester on Friday, spent the day in Liverpool yesterday and didn't have time for much this morning before she took the train back to Edinburgh. It was a great weekend though :-)

Of course on our travels we did do quite a lot of shopping. Here's my haul from the weekend:

What can you spot? A pair of work shoes from M&S (£25) and flipflops from Primark (£2.50)

A scarf from New Look (£3)

A belt from New Look (£3) which I intend to wear with my maxi dress when I get one and an umbrella from Dorothy Perkins (£5)

A tshirt from Primark (£8) although I haven't tried this on so I'm not yet sure if it's a keeper

A stripey blazer from H&M (£25)

Simple Hydrating Moisturiser, Eyeko Vintage nail polish (ASOS, £2.10), MUA nail polish (Superdrug, £1), Clinique moisturiser and lip gloss from Glamour magazine

A silver curb link chain, silver heart necklace, pearl ring (all from shops in Liverpool) and amazonite earrings from my mum (which I believe she bought from QVC) - what a great match for my new Eyeko polish

So as you can see I did spoil myself this weekend although all items (apart from the jewellery) were things I had on my spring/summer wishlist.

Saturday's (Satchel) Style

Hello girls!

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend :-) Has anyone indulged in some retail therapy today? I bought a satchel from Primark to replace the one I bought from Matalan a couple of weeks ago. It was a beautiful bag but it didn't lie very well on me. This one, however, lies well and looks really stylish I think.

I love the braiding on it

This cost me £8 from Primark. They had other colours and styles available so I might find myself going back to see if there's anything more suitable for spring.

NOTD (Purple Floral)

Hello :-)

Clearly I haven't been posting as much as I thought I was going to be this week, oops. College is taking its toll, as usual, and I've come down with a heavy cold too now. Fabulous.

Anyway, let's move on to my nails, which were a bit of a disaster to be honest.

This was from earlier in the week when I chose Eyeko's Lilac Polish and a Primark purple. I used them on alternate nails then, when browsing through my image plates, I settled for this "flower in bloom" type of image and thought it would look lovely placed at the bottom of my nail, in the middle. Well of course it would look lovely but I'm not the best at placing my stamper so this is what I ended up with:

The image blurred and smudged, the placing was off, and then the Primark purple polish decided to join in the smudging action too. It was all too much for me so five minutes after taking these photos, I removed it all. Nobody has seen this manicure in reality so I hope you feel lucky to have seen these photos ;-)

Purple Polish Collection and Primark Polish Addition

Hi folks,

While I was in town yesterday I popped into Primark and picked up a new purple nail polish which caught my eye.

I love purple polish but I'm always searching for my perfect shade:

Might Primark possibly have provided me with my perfect shade of purple polish?

This cost £1 for 10ml. I love the bottle's appearance and the smooth white top. I haven't tried this yet so I have no idea what application or finish will be like but I'm not expecting too much although I do have high expectations of the shade. It's a more blue, less grey shade of purple than my other pastels and oh there remains nothing more to say except I can't wait to try this!

Has anyone else tried Primark's polish?

Primark Haul and Recommendations Request

Hi girls,

Hope you're all looking forward to the week ahead. I'm feeling rather miserable at the moment. My college work completed defeated me at the weekend and now I'm also suffering from a cold. The show must go on though. First exam is next Monday so now is no time to crumble.

Yesterday I went into town as I desperately needed some casual wear. I got a bit of a shock when I discovered English trading laws mean that most shops either don't open at all on Sunday or don't open until 12. It's true they all stay open until about 8 at night during the week but that's not much good to me when I'm laden down with heavy textbooks. Anyway, good old Primark opened for browsing at 10.30 and for purchasing at 11. This was the first time I'd been in Primark for ages. They have some really nice things at the moment but wow, their prices seem to have increased quite a bit; £11 and £13 are the most popular price tags these days.

I didn't try all my purchases on (risky), but my eye caught a pair of long length jeans which I thought were worth trying. They weren't the style I was after but they were the only style in long length. I never get trousers in Primark so I was unsure of the sizing but decided to go for a 12. They fit, but there's quite a difference between a Primark size 12 and a Camaieu size 12:

I wear my Camaieu jeans a lot so they have become a bit baggy round my thighs now and don't look particularly great so I'm not complaining about the Primark size 12 being smaller, it's just interesting.

Next up are these two nautical-themed tshirts, which I have seen on lots of blogs:

They have fun anchor buttons on the shoulders too. Not my usual style but I like them. I wore the blue one today and loved it.

Vest tops for college. It may be getting cold outside as we approach autumn but stressed and sweaty bodies make my college classroom a sauna.

Striped long-sleeved tshirt. Not sure if I'll keep this yet. I never wear long-sleeved tshirts.

Cream 3/4 length-sleeved jumper with black heart print. Again, not sure if I'll keep this.

Floral cardigan. Yet another not sure item. What do you think?

And now for the my recommendations request. I've fallen out of love with my L'Oreal Matte Morphose foundation. Does anyone have any good and affordable full coverage foundations they would recommend?

Additionally, I'm after a nude nail polish. I went straight to the MUA range but they don't seem to have a nude. I had planned to get a Boots No7 one using my £5 off voucher but when I went to spend it yesterday, the last day the voucher was valid for, I discovered my branch of Boots doesn't open on Sundays. Missed opportunity. So are there any nice nudes out there you know about? I'd love to know your thoughts!
