Friday's Failed NOTD

Currently reading: The Distance Between Us by Maggie O'Farrell

Good morning girls! TGIF :-) Have you had a good week? What are your plans for the weekend?

In my office we have a dress-down policy for Fridays so with that in mind, I thought I'd do a bright manicure.

For the base I used a neon pink by Magic Visage Glamour and stamped using Konad Special White with BM208

Then I used BM14 to stamp a black rose on each nail, alternating the position of the rose on each finger

The reason I think this is a nail fail is because the whole design just looks messy to me and the rose image isn't clear. Plus the overall design doesn't make sense. I should have chosen a spider image and made it look like a spider creating its web.

My nails are also short again, which I dislike.

What do you think of this manicure girls? I'd love to know.

Bye for now,
Laura

Thursday's Thanks

Currently watching: Glee Season Three

Hello girls!

Sorry for my lack of posts this week, work has just left me shattered at the end of every day. I just need to get this week over and done with and then it should be fairly smooth sailing until Christmas.

Anyway, today I'd like to thank Super Cute Super Easy for giving me the One Lovely Blog Award! I've always admired this award whenever I've seen it displayed on other girls' blogs and I'm really pleased to have been awarded it now so thank you very much! If you don't already follow Super Cute Super Easy, her blog is a fab read so I suggest you head over there now :-)

Now for the rules of the award:
Link back to the blogger who gave you the award
Share 7 facts about yourself
Share the award with 10 bloggers

I always find it difficult to think of facts about myself but here goes:
*I've been in my current job for just over a year now which means I am taking on more responsibilities hence my exhaustion
*I have not watched any of X Factor this year bar 5mins of the first show
*The last cd I bought was by KT Tunstall
*I am planning a trip to East Anglia at the end of this month which I am very excited about
*The last film I saw at the cinema was Friends With Benefits
*The last dvd I watched was Love Actually. I used to hate this film but when I watched it recently my opinion changed
*I recently bought some strawberry and cream flavoured tea and I love it :-)

The lovely ladies I'd like to pass this award on to are:
Red Hair and Black Nail Polish
Fingers Polish Mania
Chit Chat Nails

Congratulations girls :-)

Bye for now,
Laura

PS The rules state I can only award this award to 10 bloggers but in my opinion you all deserve this award!

Sunday's Sparkling NOTD

Currently watching: Strictly Come Dancing

Good afternoon girls!

Are you having a good weekend? I went to Blackpool Pleasure Beach yesterday for a day of rollercoaster fun. It was great :-) Pictures to follow later this week!

On Friday night I had a work night out and as my colleagues are used to seeing me sporting nice nails, I had to make the effort and quickly get rid of my red and white flower manicure which had started to badly chip. Here's what I ended up with:

I literally had about 15mins to do my nails and let them dry whilst getting ready to go out so there were lots of smudges but glitter is fairly forgiving of such things I think.

My base is Shade 1 by MUA

For the glitter topcoat I used Julia by Essence

I love this manicure but I'm dreading the removal!

What do you think girls?

Bye for now,
Laura

NOTD

Currently listening to: Tiger Suit by KT Tunstall

Hello dear readers!

How is your week going? Here in Manchester we are finally getting some summer weather and it seems to be lifting everybody's mood :-) Fingers crossed it lasts for the weekend!

Today I'd like to show you the manicure I'm currently sporting, one which is new to me:

I used Eyeko Coral Polish as my base, which I love.

I then stamped using Konad Special White and Bundle Monster plate 205.

Unlike my previous stamping attempt with Konad polish, I didn't have any problems this time. I think it's because I stamped over my base polish instead of my fast dry top coat. Success :-)

What do you think girls?

Laura

Monday's Manicure

Currently watching: Glee Season One, as per usual

Good evening girls!

Did you all have a good weekend? Has your week started well?

Today I'd like to show you a manicure I did using one of the old Bundle Monster plates which I hadn't used before, BM20.

My base is Simply Pink by Boots 17

I stamped using Eyeko Tea Rose Polish

I forgot how problematic some of the images from the old plates could be to work with. It was near on impossible to get a clean image on my stamper so the results are deeply flawed unfortunately.

What do you think girls? Do you still use the old Bundle Monster plates or have you switched to the new ones?

Bye for now,
Laura

Thursday's Talons

Currently watching: Glee Season One

Hello ladies!

My Sally Hansen top coat chips so quickly I'm easily getting back into the routine of regularly changing my manicures.

Today I'm wearing Soft Grey by Beauty UK as my base stamped with Bleu Asphalte by Bourjois using image plate m64 by MASH.

I love this design, it's definitely my favourite from my MASH plates and seems to work well no matter what size nails you have.

What do you think?

Bye for now,
Laura

Wednesday's Wishlist

Currently watching: Glee Season One

Good morning ladies!

Are you all having a good week? I'm working in the office this week which means every day I am faced with temptation at lunch time due to my office being located in the middle of a shopping precinct. Yesterday I purchased these purple trousers from River Island:

As you can see, they were on offer with £15 off making them a bargain buy at £20. However, I don't actually have many things to match them, especially not coats. What I'm really after is a faux fur leopard print jacket but I'm struggling to find any affordable styles that I think will suit me.

This one is from River Island and is priced at £90. I'm not sure how long it is but I like the fact that it has a hood.

This one is also from River Island and also priced at £90. I'm not a great fan of the collar but I think the length would be good for trousers as I don't want anything too short.

This one, obviously not leopard print, is £65, from Next. It may be a more sensible option but it does look quite short.

Do you like any of these jackets? If so, which would you advise me to buy? What would you wear with these trousers? And, more importantly, what's on your wishlist this Wednesday?

Bye for now,
Laura
