Snapshots of Slovakia

Hello :-)

As I mentioned a while ago, before I left Poland to move back to Scotland I went on a trip around Slovakia, Hungary and Slovenia. It was an absolutely amazing trip and I saw some spectacular landscapes and scenery. Taking a time out from my usual NOTD posts, I'd like to share with you some of my photos. So, without further ado, here are my snapshots of Slovakia:

Tea (rose) in the rain

Hi girls,

I remember now why I don't normally wear blue polish: it's an absolute nightmare to remove. I don't mean that it stained my nails (it didn't because I was wearing a base coat) but all the blue got stuck under the white tips of my nails and in the dents left when my nails chip/peel. What a mess. And Essence nail repair has been totally useless at repairing my nails by the way. But anyway, I didn't come here to rant so let me just say that once again I had to cut a few of my nails and let's move on.

While I was sitting at the table removing my polish, a heavy rain shower suddenly started and I felt compelled to take a few pictures because I found it so impressive, especially the force with which the wind was directing the rain.

Look at that!

And now on to my current manicure, Eyeko's Tea Rose Polish.

This is the first time I'd used this shade, indeed it was the first time I'd used Eyeko polish on my finger nails. So what did I think? Hmm. Application was awful. Each coat was so difficult to apply that I didn't dare apply a third coat for fear of ruining what had settled into an acceptable look with two coats, even though this really does need three coats.

The colour is so-so although I think it looks quite nice in these pictures! I'm waiting for it to grow on me because I'm not used to a shade like this at all. It's too muted for my liking and using this polish has actually made me want to go out and find a brighter, more raspberry-like shade. I don't know how to describe it but I'm sure I'll know once I see it ;-)

Updated NOTD

I couldn't resist updating yesterday's manicure and trying out a new nail art pen I was recently given:

It's a light blue shade and I used the pen to outline the diamond pattern here as the straight lines were already provided for me and I thought it would be easier to keep a steady hand by following them haha.

With some practice, I think I'd be happy doing this structured pattern again but I don't think freehand nail drawing is for me so I'll be sticking to nail decorations and stamping.

Have you had any success with nail art pens?

NOTD

Currently watching: The Big Bang Theory

Good evening ladies,

So as I mentioned in my previous post, yesterday evening was my cousin's wedding reception. Nobody looked at my lovely nails but I spent the whole evening admiring them. It was a good evening and here's what the guests were given to take home with them:

Yep, it was tasty :-)
And even though I just painted my nails yesterday, I did another manicure again today using a blue polish which I was given last week from Spain. I don't know how to classify this type of polish, it's not pastel or matte. Maybe metallic? Anyway, I don't like this type because it reveals all the imperfections in my nails (and I have a lot of them unfortunately), and I don't think this shade of blue really suits me. So......since I was disappointed with my new blue polish I just had to cover it up with some fauxnading ;-)

NOTD

Hello,

Tonight I'm going to my cousin's evening wedding reception so I thought that was as good an excuse as any to do my nails again. I did love Wednesday's NOTD but my thumb nails were starting to chip slightly and that just wouldn't do for tonight. So, without further ado, I present to you another NOTD courtesy of my Bundle Monster image plates:

Do you have your weekend manicures already planned?
Bye for now,
Laura
