Konad

Could today get any more exciting? First I learned how to customise my blog and now I've learned how to Konad! I bought a stamper, scraper, image plates m3 and m36 and special polishes in white and pink to start me off and, although I'm not sure how essential it is to have the special polishes, I'm glad I used them for my first attempts. Having read many bloggers' posts and tutorials on Konad, I didn't have any trouble with this, in my opinion the most important things to remember are to work quickly and to clean the image plate after every use. I've uploaded pictures here but please ignore the state of the purple polish (I think it's about four days old) and the randomness of the images, I just wanted to share my initial attempts of my stamping frenzy. Tomorrow I'll be doing my nails properly so I should have better pictures to post then, assuming everything goes smoothly. Can't wait!

I'm particularly pleased with my index fingernail (the one with the stars) because it was my first attempt at using the stamp twice on one nail. Looks good I think. Seems like my Konad obsession has well and truly begun...

Bye for now,
Laura

Wow, they're all so pretty!! Shall google around. Feeling a but gloomy this week so I've applied black nail varnish on for this weekend. Then decided to use 'Dear Laura' glitter varnish over the top.

  7. Thanks for all your comments and positive feedback ladies, it's greatly appreciated! It's fantastic fun discovering new blogs too and I've enjoyed reading all of yours :-)

Patricia, you say you're rough to your nails but one of the reasons I paint and decorate mine is because they're so weak and in such bad condition that they look awful without any polish!

Amy, I didn't bring my 'Dear Laura' polish with me but I can imagine it would look great on top of black. Can't wait to try that during the summer!

  9. Despite only being able to wear nail varnish for 2 and a half each week, I've started applying nail varnish again recently because I got so annoyed at have about 3-4 chipped nails all the time. Somtimes they keep splitting further up too which is a pain and have to keep very short until it grows out. I was originally going to apply red glitter on top of the black but decided Dear Laura would be more subtly colourful.

  11. You should try it Daisychain! So many different looks to create and experiment with!

I know what you mean about chipped nails Wing. Mine often peel as well. I really need to get something to strengthen and condition them.
